Product Description

Almost all medical conditions first present with behavior signs. Some of these signs are easily noticed as a warning signal for a medical condition, e.g. lethargy, reduced appetite, house-soiling. Others could be primary behavioral or medical problems or a combination of both, e.g. increased anxiety or aggression. For dog trainers it is extremely important to notice typical signs for medical conditions and work closely with a vet, who can diagnose or rule out medical causes.

One of the most common and often overseen problem that changes behavior is pain. During the webinar we will “travel through the dog’s body from head to tail” and the attendees will learn how to look for typical behavioral signs of pain in the different parts of the body. We will also discuss the connection between hormones and behavior and behavioral changes in the aging dog. As many dogs have medical and behavioral issues at the same time it is very important for dog trainers to understand how medical conditions directly and indirectly influence behavior. The goal of this webinar is to increase the cooperation between dog trainers and veterinarians, to deepen the understanding of medical conditions and to help noticing medical problems at a very early point in dog classes.
